: The owners were out of town and so there were 2 very nice people who were helping to manage the motel, very nice and doing the best they could under the circumstances. Great Rte 66 in town location.
: Everything was OK, just about what I expected for the price. Nothing particularly fantastic, and nothing particularly bad.

: Convenient to the Grand Canyon
: The Westerner is now owned by new owners. I say NEW because it has been 15 years sense I have been here. I knew the owner Chuck for many years and had many good laughs with him in the past. The motel has gone down hill some over the years, but it is a older motel so don't expect any fancy amenities... Shower was hard to get adjusted for a hot shower, but the sink would/could give ya blisters it was so hot... The heat worked mediocre as it was cold the time we visited... It is a place to sleep, but would not recommend for anymore then a day or two... I guess it's a convenient stay close to the Grand Canyon if that is your destination or just a fast quick sleep, it's good for that... But for what you get and the shape the motel is in, $100 a night is a little steep and I give it a rating of 2 because it's not worth more then $50 a night IMO... It was quite enough on the top floor, not much noise throughout the night, so sleeping was good. Bed was comfortable enough, as I have slept on much harder beds. Pillows could be updated as the ones we had were pretty flat and they only had 3 in the room.. No signs of bed bugs which was good... There are some things at the motel that needs to be worked on, but not sure the newer owners know or have the ability to do the work??? So over all from a 1-5 rating, I give it a 2...

: This place is walking distance from the Main Street where you can find restaurants and stores.
: The place is quite outmoded . Cleaning only occurs in the weekend. The staff at this place is not as friendly as other places I have stayed at. Cordiality nor friendliness is displayed for bringing business here.

: Room was not cleaned, linen/soap not replaced for the 2nd night stay. Not a problem as there were sufficient supplies. Most properties will supply new soap, towels & make bed up for 2nd night stay

: when we arrived there was a sign at the office to check in across the street. The hosts over there were the BEST!!! Kathy and Andy were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I cannot comment on the host of the Westerner, since they were not in residence during our stay.
: We had accidentally booked 2 rooms and realized it days in advance. Due to vacation or whatever was keeping them away, our hosts at Westerner did not return our numerous calls and we never did hear from them regarding the unfortunate mistake. Thanks to Andy and Kathy, we were not charged for the second room. We received a rude knock at the door slightly before checkout. It was very insistent and turned out to be the fill-in host, Andy, , who informed us that check out time is 10:00. Never knew this, never anticipated it. This is , in my experience, a pretty non-conventional time and should have been mentioned specifically on check-in.

: General accommodations - priced according to seasonal demand (a tad high)
: Coffee brand borderline nasty, the door handle on the bathroom about to fall off and I didn't bring a philips screwdriver. No facial tissues (kleenex). Checkout too dang early (10 am) - should be noon to give you an illusion of additional value
